Job Description
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for processing and analyzing of financial data, driving financial performance and ensure financial compliance with government funding regulations.
The successful candidate will bring critical thinking, a strong attention to detail and a desire to “dig in” to learn the business while being mindful of the strong culture and commitment of the Company to provide the best care possible for our patients and residents across Canada.
This position will be located at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario and will have flexibility for both remote and in-office work based on our hybrid work model.
Key responsibilities include:
Execute on period end close activities such as accruals, deferrals, prepaids
Perform variance analysis to budget, forecast and prior year and prepare period end reports
Complete balance reconciliations and provide commentary on balance sheet variances
Business partner with Operations to drive costs down and maximize funding opportunities
Ensures timely submission of required government and regulatory reporting
Identify and, with manager support, work towards improvement initiatives in accounting and financial reporting
Support annual budget process
Complete other duties as assigned
What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting and
CPA designation completed or in the final stages of completion
3-5 years experience in operations finance and/or accounting related role
Strong communication skills with the ability to multitask in a dynamic and fast pace environment
Excellent organizational, computer and analytical skills; advanced working knowledge of Excel
Accounting experience with large-scale Enterprise Reporting systems, knowledge of Workday preferred
