Permanent Part-Time Unit Clerk (Hillcrest)

Job Description 

Candidates are invited to apply for the Unit Clerk Casual position to work at Extendicare Hillcrest facility, a 212-bed long-term care home, located in Calgary, Alberta.

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Unit Clerk carries out clerical duties on care units and handles resident health information but not limited to.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly accountable to the Director of Care and under the direction of the Program Manager.
  • Carry out Clerical duties and support to front office and Scheduler.
  • Compile Resident admission documents for new Resident admissions.
  • Complete filling of culled Resident Charts.
  • Arrange care conferences with the Physicians, Families and Units which is mutually agreed time.
  • Complete RAI 2.0 data entry but not limited too.
  • Complete order tracking of incontinence products and distribute the delivered supplies.
  • Distribute nursing supplies as ordered by the unit program manager and to the supply room.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with established health and safety regulations/guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Responsible for attending mandatory education and recognize and pursue self-development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Secondary School Diploma.
  • One year Community College Diploma/ Certificate in Business or related program
  • Demonstrate able to read and write as well as to understand verbal and written instructions in English
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and other applications relevant to position
  • Minimum of 60 wpm typing speed
  • Ability to operate office equipment
  • Ability to disperse incontinence products and medical supplies.
  • Works collaboratively with the health care team and acts as a champion of customer satisfaction and customer service.
